Melissa and Brooks
La Massaria
Gilbertsville, PA
Melissa and Brooks shared one of those days I can only dream about. Would a bit less heat be helpful? Maybe, but who’s to say? I would relive this wedding day 100 times. And I need the number to the rain god that Melissa prays to all week because the timing of the quick monsoon could not have been more impeccable.
Speaking of rain - rain was in the forecast all week, and there is nothing we can do about it aside from prepare. They bought a ton of umbrellas and we crossed out fingers for the best. Come the day of their beautiful wedding at La Massaria in Gilbertsville, there was one little blurb of rain on the radar that was of course right around their ceremony time. With the suggestions of Dad and Brooks, Melissa decided to “risk it for the biscuit” and push for her planned outdoor ceremony. This is by far the hardest decision to make when it’s crunch time but it worked out for Melissa and Brooks. And here’s the thing, that makes it so hard - your guests. It’s hard not to consider them, but as literally any bride I’ve ever had will tell you; I don’t care about the guests. Not in a malicious way but let’s be for real. As a guest you get invited to an incredible special day for these two people. That’s all there is to it. Anyone, as a guest, I invited into a day that these two people planned. You can choose to partake in the activities or not. You wouldn’t skip out on a DJ because some people don’t want to dance. You wouldn’t not serve cake because some people don’t like sweets. So don’t skip out on your vision because some people might get wet. Luckily for Melissa and Brooks, that was not the case and their day turned out absolutely perfect!
The care that Melissa showed for everyone though was a true testament to her as a person. And Brooks pushing for their original plan was just the icing on the cake. I cannot say enough good things about you both as a couple. You were amazing to spend the day with, insanely stunning, filling with endearing words towards each other all day (I mean those vows - come on!), funny, and charismatic throughout all the heat, radar checks, and entire wedding day. I wish you both nothing but endless love and golfers to not as for your pictures every again.
