Katie and Brian

The relationship between Katie and Brian can be summed up by one story: It’s not too long… unless I ramble as per my usual. Here it goes:
When I first met this couple we went through the usual conversations about their wedding, I found out Brian’s Dad used to photograph weddings himself so it was an honor to be considered! We drank some yummy drinks, they reviewed the contract, and a few weeks later they booked me. I was so excited to be shooting their wedding because it’s where I got married myself! Any who… I know that has nothing to do with their relationship but I felt I needed a little back story. So I show up for their engagement session and Brian and Katie look BOMB! We started at Blue Bird Distillery - because drinks on drinks - and I did the DUMBEST thing. We decided to throw in some board games and Scrabble was among them so I though it would be cute to do detail shots of Katies ring with their soon too be combined last name. So I take about 15 minutes to set this up and shoot it and then Brian looks down and says “You know your missing a letter, right?” Mind you… this was not a difficult name. Here I sit mortified that I can’t spell but I’m also convinced that Brian stole a letter to fuck with me. Either way, I’m embarrassed and we talk about heading out and me trying to not be the blondest person on the face of the earth and somehow it comes up that Brian has a giant inflatable T-Rex costume that he wants to wear. I have no idea what to think here. In my mind he’s already messed with me once so I’m hesitant but also hella down. He grabs a box from his car (that I’m convinced is too small to fit this giant costume) and we head out around town for some shots. Ya’ll this was one of THE BEST engagement sessions. By the end of it we accomplished their goals. Katie’s goal: to eat pizza - so we did while Brian played a strangers guitar. Brian’s goal: To be T-Rex and he wasn’t lying! We pranced around Phoenixville getting honks, waves, and strange looks from people and it was so much fun! Then they hit me with it… T-Rex would be a guest at the wedding. #goals.
I had so much fun at this wedding - I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to get it up on the blog! It was filled with amazing friends and family who were welcoming and undeniably comical. I can’t get over the amount of jokes shelled out between the wedding party that continued right into the reception and morphed into 76ers chants and giant cardboard cut outs of the Bride and Groom on the dance floor. From the very start at Katie was putting on her dress and a rap song about Juicy Booties came on (and wasn’t changed) I knew it was going to be an amazing day!
Fun fact: They also let me bring along Dan who created my own little BTS video which can be found on that boring “About Me” page that no one ever clicks on!
Fun Fact Number 2: Katie is an amazing hair stylist who has also helped me get the most amazing shades of blonde onto my head. Hit her up for colors and cuts! (Glam Studio)
