To say my couples this year so far have been nothing short of the actual shit would be doing a huge disservice to how amazing these people really are. Hanna and Steve HAPPILY belong on that list. Since their engagement session (roughly one million years ago - it feels) I have been looking forward to their wedding and they did not disappoint. I say it a lot in consolation calls with couples but not only do I want vibe with you as a couples, I need to. I need to be able to figure out the things you like and the way your love feels so I can get you back pictures that tell everyone about your wedding day, not just what your cake looked like.

Hanna and Steve were GIVING in the emotions department on their rainy wedding day at John James Audubon Center. Step 1 to having the perfect wedding day? Have a wedding on a day it rains. I would also like to applaud the flexibility of everyone while we dodged raindrops between portraits. Hats off to all of you who were a part of this man to the dark blue suits that were poppin’ in the rain!

I don’t normally talk about the speeches I hear on wedding days, but the speeches these two got were so elegantly justified. I felt every word of them when Hanna and Steve’s closest friends described why they loved them and why they fit together. More importantly though, I was invited into a moment that suggested it’s best if we slow down, and we need that reminder on a wedding day. The private vows these to shared had me tearing up and giggling with them and it’s not even my relationship! But I get it! I get the love between the two of you and I’m here and fully supportive of it.
