Katelyn and Tim
Ballroom at the Ben
Philadelphia, PA
Dilly Dilly. I am suuuuuccchhhh a sucker for a good Philly wedding and Ballroom at the Ben by Finely Catering is in the perfect location to feel like you’re really in the heartbeat of the city. While the rest of the wedding season seemed to be nothing but a rain puddle, Katelyn and Tim were graced with the most perfect fall day filled with rich colors and even better - dry streets! I pulled up to their wedding with a zero percent chance of rain in the forecast and nothing but optimism… I just have to tell this story.
So I’m waiting outside by the shuttle waiting for the wedding party to come out, Tim is already in place at first look. Here I stand running through all the ideas and locations I’m excited to use and mentally mapping out my playoff action to take advantage of the sunshine and this cloud comes out of no where. I mean NOWHERE. I took a picture of the city from the top if their hotel and its sun blasted in the best ways. So I’m standing there and this cloud rolls up and immediately I’m like whatever, it’s just a cloud - they are allowed to be there. This cute little cloud starts to drizzle. Legit drizzle and squeeze out the cutest little bit of rain while I’m standing there. Thankfully it realized the forecast was a zero percent chance and left before first look actually happened. But I’ll be damned. It’s like this little cloud wanted me to be able to boast on the fact it’s rained at every single wedding this season.
Back to Katelyn and Tim - they found me through one of their amazing bridesmaids (Hey Claire!) who’s wedding I photographed exactly two years ago today. If you go back in time you can find all my posts about them having the best group of people I’ve ever got to experience a wedding with. Like the love and warmth that exuded off of every single wedding attendee at their wedding was so warming to have around the holidays. Katelyn was in their wedding party and it is honestly the HIGHEST honor I can feel when you see me in action and then hire me for your own wedding. So thank you Katelyn for that. I had so much fun laughing with you and Tim all over the city and creating some of my favorite pictures I’ve taken this season.
You were both so enjoyable to spend the day with and everyone was equally as welcoming which doesn’t happen at every wedding. I couldn’t have taken half of these beautiful picture without my work wife and friend Kristy there with me! While rounding out the end of my season and you were both a breath of fresh air in a very busy and packed fall. I hope you enjoy a little peak into their wedding day!
