Amy and Christian

When people I already know hire to to capture their wedding for them, my little photo heart grow 10x in size. I’m not kidding. Would I love to be a guest sometimes? Yes! and I am. So that’s besides the point. When I can integrate into your wedding day and peep all the beautiful things before everyone and most importantly, spend the day getting you back memories you would cherish forever… little photo heart becomes massive. Although to be fair, my heart for photography is already pretty massive.
So how do I know Christian and Amy? I met Christian through a friend years ago - maybe 9ish? Pre kids and pre my own wedding. So here we are, this group of friends and Julian (Christian’s best man) who was close with a friend of mine (Hey Mike!) - anyway - we are all getting together and Julian walks in with this man who has THE BEST smile in the world and introduces him as Rico. He is still in my phone as Rico to this day. I digress. So Rico walks in and it’s like yes! Another high energy person who likes to dance? Sign me up! I was so happy to have met him. This group wa honestly so much fun between bowling nights and random game nights, it was never a bad time when we got together. As adulting goes (children cover your ears) life got in the way and we grew apart. Steve and I were a hike away from everyone and getting out there between jobs and school became nearly impossible.
Fast forward to last year and Christian reaches back out to ask if I can photograph his proposal! Um, Heck yes my dude! In enters Amy! We set it us as my trying to build a portfolio and needed models because Christian ain’t no dummy and knew she would want to look nice! What better excuse than pictures? We walked around, sweat a bunch, he asked, she said yes, drank champagne, and had a great night. They Amy reached out to me to photograph their wedding! The highest honor I will ever get is a repeat client. On the totem pole friends supporting me and past clients turned friends supporting me next to each other. I love it. I live for it. And I was elated to be a part of this beautiful day.
If you were lucky enough to be a part of this close knit wedding filled with immediate friends and family then you know exactly what I’m talking about. Every detail was perfection and after getting to know Amy, I am not surprised! I loved it! So much beauty. On top of that I got to say hi to some of the old friends and get reminded how amazing they all are. Honestly it made me a little nostalgic. Every person at this wedding had nothing but delightful things to say about these two and some even made the time to come over and compliment us before seeing any pictures. The best things I heard was, “You can tell from the smiles on everyone’s faces when you talk to them that you are doing great”. Be still my heart. It was a rough weekend and week for me and this wedding just breathed a little life back into me.
Amy and Rico, I wish you nothing but all the best for both of you! May you hard work and determination take you all the places you want to! Hopefully over to my house one day so we can have a random game night like the good ol days!
Enjoy their whimsical Terraine Garden’s Wedding!
