Shannon and Joe

Be still my beating heart. I literally can’t even with how beautiful of a day Shannon and Joe got. For those of you who have been following along you know that 90% of my 2019 weddings were rain filled at some point in the day. Skip forward to 2020 and well… we all know what has been going on so lets just not talk about it any more. Then comes this beaut of a day?! I feel like I was blessed and it wasn’t even my wedding day!

So remember how I was talking about a recent obsession with Elopements? I’ve told a million and 1 people that I would love to shoot more of this because I love the intimacy and relaxed nature of elopements. Come to think of it - maybe I willed Corona into existence by wishing so badly to have more small weddings. Shook. Regardless, I 100% know this was not the wedding Shannon and Joe were planning for. HOWEVER - as I told them on this beautiful afternoon - if you’re going to have a change of plans, this was the way to do it.

After a short little 2 mile trek through the woods, Shannon and Joe, along with some amazing friends and family arrived at the most picturesque location on the Susquehanna. Forget Chickies Rock - that would have been much too simple of a walk. White Cliffs of Conoy is THE SPOT. It’s possibly my new number 1 for those of you looking to go. The beautiful white rock provided and other worldly experience. To be perfectly honest; a new world feeling is exactly what we needed in the middle of the madness. Our own little breath of fresh air.

With the sun setting behind them, Shannon and Joe shared their vows, hugs with loved ones, and of course a couple of White Claws. Everyone circled around them for their first dance with one hell of a view and then parted ways as the couple spent their first few moments as a married couple with yours truly. I have said this from the start - Shannon and Joe are my people. They are both so humble and down to earth and compliment each other in the best ways possible. They laugh both at and with one another and you can literally (have I said literally enough?) feel the love they have for one another. While walking back to our cars in the darkness Joe summed up their relationship. We were talking about the change of plans and Joe said, “This was for Shannon. I could literally get married in a trash can but I know she wanted a special day. Something out of the ordinary.” Their wedding day is one I will never forget and I can’t wait to party with them and the rest of their friends when we finally get the chance! I could honestly go on and on about this couple and this day but I’m too excited to share these images!! Enjoy!
