Operation get better at blogging is in full swing!!! You should see every to do list that I’ve ever written. I promise you that on everyone of them says “BLOG SOMETHING”. Never what though. Why? Because I have so much work that I love and so many couples I want to gush about!! (And also those two little babies of mine sucking up all my free time… ). One of my 2020 goals is to get better with being more communicative online! Actually to be honest it’s been a general goal in life but New Years just happened and making goals for the new year just seems like the right thing to do. So here I am!
Now, back to those couples I want to gush about, let me bring you Matt and Emily! Okay… sorry time! I’m not even sure if I told them this so it could be news to everyone. Whenever a couple reaches out I am BEYOND GUILTY of being a bit of a facebook stalker. At some point before we finally meet up, just know that I wanted to see you! I hate not having a face for a name and sometimes my stalking leads me no where (aka I type in your name and nothing pops up) and that’s okay. Sometimes it does work though and I get to see all the happy recently engaged faces and start to fall in love with you. This time was a success story! Emily doesn’t have a super common maiden name so I searched for her, she was engaged, from the same area, I put a face to the name and was happy. Right? Wrong! It gets better. It’s engagement session time and this bomb ass looking couple starts walking towards me and I’m like Oh shit… this is going to be awkward when I tell them they walked up to the wrong person standing around aimlessly with a camera waiting for her couple (it me). Then this beautiful faced blonde bombshell says “Jes?” Accascuse me? Don’t get me wrong… there was nothing wrong with who I THOUGHT was coming to meet me, but just wait until you see these two and you’ll understand why I was so happy to realize my stalking ways lied to me!
Emily and Matt were fun from the jump off. Granted I was probably like an awkward sloth for the first 20 minutes because in the back of my head I’m still wondering if I’m photographing the correct couple. haha They showed up to their session perfectly dressed and pranced around a few of my favorite spots in the city in freezing weather and absolutely KILLED their session. I was so excited for their wedding.
Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Emily looked ah-mazing when I showed up and she was only half way finished getting ready. I have a hard time writing “Emily looked perfect” because I had a lot of different and perfect brides but Emily was just jaw dropping. Like I stopped what I was doing a few times and just thought, Damn… she nailed it! And then there is Matt - aka mr sharp dressed man. He looked so GQ in his suit and I couldn’t wait for the two to have their first look so I could photograph the perfection together! The rest of the wedding was tons of fun, Matt’s Mom stayed her speech, people were thrown around on chairs, and we learned how hard it is to ride your husband piggy back while in a wedding dress. I will never forget how much fun I had at their wedding. Side note: everyone should have some version of the hora dance. <3
Shout out to the amazing vendors who helped their day go off beautifully!
